information sheet about german highway code
please ask in your country for the legal regulations

Boat trailers up to 6 km/h are principally only allowed to be moved on public streets if:

o they are towed by a vehicle with a maximum velocity of 6 km/h due to its construction.
o there is proof that the correct braking deceleration of at least 1.5 m/s² according to § 41 (9) StVZO (Highway Code germany) is reached when connected with the towing vehicle.
o the trailer is towed only on streets with a gradient of up to a maximum of 2 %.
o the lighting equipment is fixed and electrically connected.
o the load is secured properly.
o the trailer is secured with two chocks at the rear axle when parked.
o the rear steering axle - if there is one - is fixed and secured in a straight position.

If a trailer up to 6 km/h is to be moved on public streets, the responsible Road Traffic Authorities issue a special licence according to § 70 StVZO (Highway Code germany) if the a.m. conditions are fulfilled. Normally, this is only necessary once. On customer's request, we can carry out this formality directly when the trailer is purchased.

The Weber non-braked trailers up to 6 km/h are serially equipped with 2 brake chocks.

The 25 km/h-trailers have an operating licence according to § 21 StVZO (Highway Code germany) already ex works and thus are allowed to be towed on public streets by a suitable vehicle up to 25 km/h. These trailers are licence-free, do not need their own registration plates and have a TÜV (MOT germany) report by the works. It is not necessary to present the trailer at the TÜV (MOT germany) again.
